On the southern side of the Island of Hvar are stretching numerous bays with beautiful sandy and pebbly beaches. One of the most beautiful beaches is located in a bay Petarcica in a small fishing settlement Zavala. Under the hillside on which are vineyards, you can find a long pebbly beach which is favourite place of families with small kids. The sea is crystal clear and great for diving.

Climate conditions in Zavala are giving opportunity for different water sports because of the winds, many sailing and surfing lovers gather here. After spending a pleasant day on the beach you can relax by walking through a long promenade by the sea, and enjoy in luscious scents of lavender and rosemary.

Those with an adventurous spirit can go explore nearby islets by a boat.
