The Island of Mljet is a beautiful green island in a southern Dalmatia which possesses thick vegetation and beautiful beaches. Some of the most famous beaches are located in sandy bays Saplunara and Blaca. There are two phenomena on the island, Veliko and Malo lakes, which are because of its characteristics protected within the Nature Park. In lakes is the sea water which passes trough the channel Soline.

In Malo lake is possible to swim even in winter days because the water here cools slower so the temperature is pleasant for swimming. A thick forest of Aleppo pine separates the coast of Veliko lake where you can refresh yourself. You can enjoy in the nature and clean water on one of many beaches which are never crowded. In Veliko lake is placed a picturesque islet of Sv. Marija, which is famous destination with a benedictine monastery.

The Island of Mljet is an ideal place for an active holiday because there are many cycling paths, and diving in a rich underwater world gives you an amazing experience.
